Editorial Standards
How GarbageDisposalInstallationCost.com researches, writes, and maintains its cost guides, and who answers for what's on it. Last updated 2026-06-17.
Where the numbers come from
Every price range on this site is built from published contractor rate surveys, manufacturer list pricing for disposal units, and labor-cost data from home-services industry sources. We don't invent a number to round out a table. If a figure can't be traced to something real, it doesn't get published.
How often pages get rechecked
Cost guides and the calculator's underlying ranges get reviewed on a rolling basis, roughly every few months, sooner if contractor pricing visibly shifts. Each page carries an "Updated" date so you can tell how current it is at a glance rather than guessing.
Who actually writes this
Jessica Martinez writes and maintains the guides and calculator copy on this site; her author page covers what she works on and how to reach her. Chris Terry owns and publishes the site. He does not write the guides, but any editorial mistake on this site is still his to fix.
Corrections
Found something wrong, stale, or unclear? Tell us through the contact page. Confirmed errors get fixed as soon as we can manage, and anything that affects a live cost estimate gets priority the same day we see it.
Advertising and referral links
This site runs display ads and links to a quote-matching partner for garbage disposal installers. We may earn a fee when a reader requests quotes through those links. That relationship has no say over the pricing data or the guidance in the articles; the calculator's math doesn't move based on which contractor network happens to be paying more this month.
Credentials, stated plainly
We don't claim plumbing licenses or trade certifications for our writers, because they don't hold them. What we offer is careful research and a clear read of published pricing data. For anything that actually requires a license, meaning the plumbing and electrical work itself, hire a licensed professional in your area.
